Confessions of a Youtube Addict

3,758 just since April 2008 + 403 from my old account =  4,161 videos watched.
Yup, I am truly addicted. As my friends know, I spend countless hours on Youtube watching pointless videos, but it is just so entertaining.  Youtube is a place full of so much creativity and excitement, no matter what you type in you're basically 100% guarantied a result. I don't so much spend time watching things like people hurt themselves or random lolcat things, I actually subscribe to peoples accounts that create very interesting and entertaining videos on a regular basis. Right now I am subscribed to 82 people, and I'll tell you about my favourites:

Battle Stair Galactica!

It was a rainy day in pizza ville, well not really. Anyhow Heather Breeze and I endured an epic adventure of fail. So much fail that it could almost be definded as success. It all started one day at a street party in Bowmanville on Andrew's street. There was party outside people dancing in the streets, live bands playing and random children running around. After the street party we went inside Andrew's house and we slept over. When everyone asleep was trying to sleep in their rooms, Heather and I went on a mission for a duvet in the hall. When we found the duvet we thought success but we wrong. Heather & I grabbed the duvet and then knocked things off of the table in the hall. We collapsed to the ground in silent laughter. We carried on carrying it after we picked up the fallen items. To the stairs, at the top of the wooden hardwood stairs Heather yells at me to go faster, so i pick up speed. Tripping over the duvet I fall down the stairs, we continued laughing. As we were sitting at the bottom of the stairs in hysterics, you here Chad yelling in a whisper " are you guys okay?" We laughed even more, then Andrew comes out of his room and goes "What are you doing" which produced even more laugher. We carried on our way once we caught our breath and heather hits the door stopper " DONNGNNGNGNGNG" I fall to the ground laughing and Heather stood there laughing. We FINALLY made it back at the couch and TV room. We laughed and laughed and laughed untill we feel asleep. Everytime we saw each other for the next while we just laughed. Can you tell we laughed a lot? That was a great night, oh the failure.

Campfire

Grundy lake is a beautiful camp ground about 5 hours from here. This camp ground is full of fabulous memories that shall be cherished for ever. This picture above (which I do NOT take credit for) is the "slippery rocks" one of the most hilariously entertaining things on the planet. So basically here is what you do: Run as fast as you can unto the water, when you find your feet in the water there is no stopping you. They are called the slippery rocks because the rocks are slippery and slimy, and you slide down them with ease. Kalynn Bedbrook and I have spend many hours sliding down these rocks trying different tricks like spinning.
I have been to grundy lake 3 times now and love it to bits. I've gone once with Jenna Chard years ago, another time with Kalynn Bedbrook and my family, and the most recent time with my dad&the brother, my uncle, my cousin Shannon & her boyfriend Wesley, Kalynn Bedbrook and Nathan Miller. It was good times, we spend numerous hours at the jumping rocks(picture below), Slippery rocks, playing "president" and other card games and playing Rumikub.

One of my favourite stories takes place here in Grundy park, this was probably 3 or 4 years ago now, back when me and Kalynn were younger. We were outside frolicking about and we stumbled across a caterpillar, in whom we names Ernest! Let me tell you about him, he was the quiet type never really said much, he was small, fuzzy and had many legs. Kalynn, Ernest & I ventured out to the lake where we sat on rocks talking for a while about random KatelynlyKalynny conversations, and suddenly I stand up to find myself sliding down a rock with poor innocent ernest in my hands. Somehow managing to stay out of the water I saved mine and Ernest's life in sacrifice for the well being of my leg, which is now scared. While sliding down that rock I ended up scratching my ankle upon it, leaving me with less skin then before. This was painful, but I saved Ernest's life.
Another story dear to me is One-Eyed Wesley. This happened when Wesley was scavenging through out the bushes for some wood that we could burn to create a beautiful warm fire. On this hunt he managed to look at a tree and poke his eye. This was bad, very bad. After suffering through the night, they went of to the hospital in the morning. Returning they brought us the news old Einstein there Wesley has scratched his cornea. For the next few days we walked around with an eye patch on, which affected his depth perception. Hence the nickname One-eyed Wesley. To be honest it was hilarious.

Snowboarding Adventures

On Saturday the 17th Danielle and I went snowboarding at the Kirby ski hill! Now Dan(formally known as Danielle Luxton)&I both started at the end of last seasons so February/March time period so we are relatively new, but this year we are basically the definition of success. During the Christmas holidays I went up to with the Fam Jam to snowboard down the mountains Big White and Silver Star, which are simply giant and beautiful, Kirby is a bump in comparison.

In BC I learned a lot, for example how to carve, and get more confident on my toe edge. The first day was brutal, a minus 24 at the bottom of the mountain, now imagine the temperature at the top. Adding to the the brutalness I had my fair share of hardcore whip-outs, resulting in serious pain. By the last day we went, I was able to make it down a five kilometer run without falling! Meanwhile back in Ontario Dan went many times improving her skills. When I returned Dan and I went boarding together, to our surprise we were pretty darn good if I do say so myself. Our accomplishments are growing, for example last season, the T-bar was a pure evil piece of metal and wood designed only to kill us, but this year it has become out best friend.
On the 17th we managed to jump while riding, which turned out to be easier then we suspected, only managing one good fall by yours truly after landing and catching an edge. Then we ventured into the park, our new battle. We have made our way into the park on two different days now and attempted a jump, a box and a rail. Danielle has had more success then I by landing a jump and the box, while i managed to make it across the box land then fall, also panicking then stopping on the jump didn't help. My goal is to land the box and the jump, and try the flat down flat. So verdict, Katelyn+Dan+Snowboards+Snow+2009=success.

Kately's Tunage:
Music is basically the greatest thing ever, so I am here to tell you all about my music! My favourite genres consist of metal, hardrock, punk and ska. The best bands out there today are: Ninjaspy, System of a Down, Alexisonfire, Against Me!, Tool, Killswitch Engage, A Perfect Circle, The Aquabats, It Dies Today, City and Colour, Bad Religion, Protest the Hero, Social Code and Anberlin.
Now the band I would like to talk about is Ninjaspy. Three brothers from Port Coquitlem, British Columbia Joek Parent, Adam Parent and Tim Parent, these guys have created a new genre of music. It is a combination of hardcore, funk, and ska and they pull it off very well. In June of 2008 Ninjaspy played a show at the Dungeon in Oshawa with Protest the Hero. It was an insane show the singer wore an eyepatch with a green laser attached to it and they gave out blow up swords to random crowd members. Generally amazing stage presents, amazing band. If anyone enjoys hardcore music, ska or funk I recomend that you check out ninjaspy at www.ninjaspy.net
